Before you decide anything big
This is the window when a lot of women make the largest decisions of their lives. Leave the job. Step off the track. End the marriage. Some of them are right, and were coming anyway. Some aren’t, and those are the ones you can’t undo.
So there’s one question worth asking first: am I deciding I don’t want this, or am I deciding I can’t do this anymore?
The first is a preference. You’re allowed to have it, and you don’t owe anyone a reason.
The second is a conclusion about you, and this is the window when that conclusion is least reliable. It’s built on a few bad weeks you didn’t understand at the time.
One thing I won’t skip: if I can’t do this anymore has been there for weeks, and it covers everything, not just work, take it to a doctor. Depression is common in these years, and from the inside it sounds exactly like this. A course can’t help with that. A doctor can.
If that’s not what’s going on – join us first. The decision will still be there in December. You’ll just be making it with better information about yourself.
